WRITTEN BY MARTIN MCDONAGH, DIRECTED BY CARMEL O'REILLY
FEATURING COLIN HAMELL, BILLY MELEADY, DERRY WOODHOUSE, AND LISA
O'BRIEN
In a small town that's fast becoming the murder capital of the world, two brothers battle it out over a dead father, an inheritance and a packet of crisps. Sadistic, inflammatory and dangerous. Welcome to the lonesome West. The Lonesome West is the third instalment in Martin McDonagh’s award- winning Leenane trilogy. It tells the story of Coleman and Valene Connor, whose dysfunctional co-habitation plays out a hilariously dark vision of the human condition. "The virginal events at the best new venue in town come to us from the Davis Square Theatre and Hear Now Live! Everyone can find a groove in the fresh venue at 255 Elm Street, Somerville, on April thirteenth and fourteenth.
The beautifully restored, classic theater bar venue (that you may have known as Jimmy Tingle) has 146 seats and an additional general admission capacity of fifty. Forget about those tax return forms, save this pair of dates in your calendar, and be there for the Davis Square Theatre’s opening weekend.
The all-ages inaugural Friday night of April 13th features a rhythmic mix spanning soul, funk, hip-hop, reggae and afrobeat with The Wonder Mics, Merrimack Delta Dub Set, and Hub Dub.
On Saturday night, April 14th, the funktastic party continues with Love In Stockholm, Biscuits & Gravy, and Cosmodrome. This rock ‘n’ soul show is open to new and old friends of all ages.
Spring into a fresh era of musical enjoyment with a year’s worth of fun in one April weekend. Get to know the newest scene in the area and break out your best dancing shoes to make your mark on 2012."
$12 at the door.
